This is why greater transparency about the use of AI in UK public sector seems to be urgently needed. Anyone with first hand info about its application please get in touch.

Is the UK “flying blind” about the deployment of AI in the public sector? It is too difficult to find out what algorithms are being used, where and with what effect. Any insiders who might shed light, please do get in touch in confidence.

To all those following - YES this is an emergency AND yes sexual health sector does need additional resource to manage this emergency - sexual health services had a £150m reduction since 2013.this has been seen as reduction in nurses, doctors , receptionists and support workers
Wes Streeting@wesstreeting

This is a serious development that requires an equally serious shift in gear from the Government. To prevent Monkeypox becoming endemic, the Government needs to urgently increase vaccine supply alongside a major communication campaign to alert the public to the risks.

@steveswannBBC @helenpidd The Centre For Cities has been pushing an analogy about the reunification of east and west Germany which seems, um, a little over the top.

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry has run in parallel to a police investigation, which covers offences including manslaughter, for four years. There has never been any suggestion its report will need to be censored or delayed to avoid prejudicing police inquiries. What's different?
Peter Apps@PeteApps

A question on the Met delay to the Sue Gray report: Any first year media law student could tell you contempt of court is only a risk once someone has been arrested + only applies if there is a serious risk of prejudicing a jury trial. But...
