@insidethegroove On first listen I thought “oh no are we taking up where Madame X left off” but by second listen it transpired that it is far superior in production and especially in its vocal production. I have already come back to it voluntarily more than that whole album.

I do get why some fans are underwhelmed by La Bambola as it's so far from the traditional Madonna sound (especially after a drought of material), but I absolutely love it. It's really sophisticated and mature without sounding dated. An unexpected pleasure.
