Sitting with legends, that awkward day that you do not ask for selfies or signed menus, the day you realise that you are amongst the best when @RobinHutson is your wine waiter & so many incredible people are there to toast @DermotSugrue & Ana a magical day in the 🇬🇧 sunshine

Breaking restaurant-character for a moment to say it’s my (Will, Co-founder) mum’s last wine column for the Guardian today. EVERYONE READ IT. You’re a legend mum, and I’m so proud of you. @winematcher 🥰

@Caterertweets @hmurray9 Warmest good wishes to @RobinHutson and Judy. If any pair deserve a more peaceful life, they do - the most spectacular hospitality entrepreneurs of our times … unique in their thinking, original in their creations.

@RobinHutson @hutson_judy123 Your contribution to the UK hospitality industry has been enormous and also heartwarming ❤️ You broke all the rules of hotel-keeping and brought a breath of fresh air to an industry that welcomed your maverick approach. I am personal delighted that your contribution was recognised with every award in the book including an OBE. You’re making the right decision to spend more time with your family we wish you both good health 🙏 and well deserved happiness ❤️❤️ H&S

How about this auld thing I’ve been drinking recently (ce soir, in fact)… here’s to Irish winemakers all over the world: their dreams, (their troubles - let’s be clear), their imaginations, their hopes, aspirations, guiding beliefs: inspiration takes perspiration, as they say…

We opened a bottle of Giacomo #Borgogno & Figli #Barolo Riserva #1964 to celebrate my brother-in-law’s 60th birthday. It was a beautiful bottle in perfect condition, with a balsamic character you can find in old #nebbiolo. Beautiful #wine.
