I am at 770 Chabad World Headquarters in Crown Heights, where a man intentionally, and repeatedly, crashed his car into the building. I am relieved that no one was injured in this horrifying incident. This is deeply alarming, especially given the deep meaning and history of the institution to so many in New York and around the world. Any threat to a Jewish institution or place of worship must be taken seriously. Antisemitism has no place in our city, and violence or intimidation against Jewish New Yorkers is unacceptable. I stand in solidarity with the Crown Heights Jewish community, and I am grateful to our first responders for taking swift action. I will keep New Yorkers updated as we learn more about the incident.

Today, I formally asked the FCC to investigate the repeated Verizon wireless outages that have occurred over the past year. Whether caused by internal failures or external interference, these ongoing disruptions pose a serious threat to public safety and to the people we represent. Reliable wireless service is essential for emergency response, public alerts, businesses, and everyday communication.

Yesterday, we said goodbye to Tatiana. Heartbreak doesn’t begin to capture the sadness we feel. Our hearts are with Caroline and Ed and George and Josie and Eddie and Rose and Jack. She had so much more living to do. She was so smart and so funny, just like her mom. She was so thoughtful and so brilliant, just like her dad. She had faith in the sacredness of nature and in its maker too. She was willing to take on the great work of our time—telling the truth without fear. There is no sense to be found in this suffering. Only indescribable sadness and all of our faith. Her husband George asked us all to be part of keeping her alive by being playful and doing crossword puzzles (in under 5 minutes), being the best friend in the world, listening with kindness, speaking with truth, laughing hysterically, and so much more. We promise to carry her with us into this new year and for the years to come. And we invite you to join us in living each day with gratitude, love, a sense of humor, and action. We love you Tatiana.

Great event tonight at the University of Michigan, the discussion focused on: -What Hamas really is. -Hamas crimes against humanity, genocide, the use of human shields, and kidnapping of innocent children. -Pro-Palestinian groups attempt to delegitimize Israel -Why Students on Campus Should Condemn Hamas -Antisemitism is Nazism. -Terrorism and supporting savages is not a point of view. The students were very engaged and I really enjoyed their questions. My main focus for the next few months is American Universities.
