Starmer's regime send what appears to be sharia police to threaten to take a lady's daughter into custody if she doesn't hand over her phone. The child's "crime"? Looking at a social media post! This is England 2025.

The biggest buzz you can get researching history is reconnecting a lost object with its place of origin. In this case a tile stripped from a tomb in Pakistan that made its way to Perth. Loved this project.

@theohonohan @DSM888 @smithmuseum A lot to unpack there. Technology is simply a tool, it depends on how it's used. The argument was used against the internet and Wikipedia. Google search is completely AI driven (always was); are we suggesting the death of the search engine? Or do we recognise appropriate uses?

@Robin_Ergadia @DSM888 @smithmuseum I don't know... Technology can degrade knowledge and cause it to be lost. You can't accuse the first encyclopedias of doing that. ChatGPT is not "just another layer" and a lot of bad things are going to happen because of unreliable AI. Not all technical development is equivalent.

@Robin_Ergadia @DSM888 @smithmuseum I think you're right about this. When it works, it's very convenient. But I can also see some people being indignant about knowledge being in this digital form, with no human expert being involved, and also worrying about the gradual devaluation of collections that aren't online.

Why doesn't the Church of Scotland rack out their churches with niches and use them as crypts for local people’s ashes? There is a new Long Barrow near me that is being built for this purpose.
