The @NDIS (Ben) just rang to explain that I don’t have a substantially reduced capacity in the self care domain because eating is only ONE element of that domain. I clarified that bc I can shower myself, the fact I can’t eat is irrelevant for the purposes of access. He said yes

Wouldn't it be great if all these pre-existing conditions used to justify covid deaths were also accepted for DSP eligibility???

I'm not saying that these conditions automatically spell death, but I am saying that without clarity about what is being said, we progressively chip away at our aversion to distinguishing between the "pure" and the "diseased". It must stop. Every death deserves sorrow & respect.

I've finally worked out why the constant statement of "underlying conditions" irks me so much when reporting Covid deaths. There is an implied end to the sentence which we all understand. What they are really saying is ...(and so we shouldn't be too concerned). Well, I am.
