I'm assuming he didn't turn down an invite, which means Charles Schwab chose to invite Webb Simpson over 19-year-old Blades Brown, who just secured a special temporary card. Yikes

@TitanicGambler @EPatGolf Blades is ~30% of the way towards qualify via non-member FedEx points... Blades is ~60% of the way towards qualifying for the PGAT via KFT. JMO... secure the card via KFT first and foremost... THEN go after improving that status by going full bore on PGAT.

Per my sources he’s going to prioritize the KFT going forward and making sure he grabs won of the top 20 cards. I’m not an expert on starts and priority but I have Ben informed that the temp membership is actually quite poor and if he doesn’t get far higher up in the fedex cup then he risks being back on KFT next year.

Didn't catch Brown saying he was committed to playing in the KFT event this week. Will be interesting to see how he splits his time the rest of the year, but you'd think the PGA Tour would rather him play Colonial than KFT

@EPatGolf JMO... the #1 objective for the Tour would be Blades qualifying for full exempt status on PGAT for next year... on whichever path gives him the best chance of doing so. And as of now, statistically speaking, that's via KFT.

@Robopz Could very well be. Think was mentioned before that a wild card couldn’t be used as a substitute; supposedly permanent (like AK). Just figured that LIV would change rules if Phil was able to come back. Not sure 🤔 of his family issue, so while not a Phil fan hope things are ok.

LIV Korea looks to be ~23.4 OWGR winners share. (Based on known roster changes this week: Rottluff for Hatton and KoreaGC Danny Lee demotion... there may be other changes I'm not aware of)

Yep... getting STM is harder but still doable... but getting to the Top-70 benchmark for full membership is gonna be a rare thing anymore... Statistically... KFT route is BY FAR the safest route to getting there... passing on KFT events for PGAT is risky business... He's clearly a special talent... but still... just sayin'......

A great example of what is facing Blades Brown and the tough choices he will have to make. Going into this week he was 9th in KFT points. He is now 13th. In just one week. Top 20 get cards Obv huge to get STM on Tour but some tough decisions he will face on a weekly basis

@tak6tak @BobHarig OPEN normally ends up 75-80ish top-100... so it's probably on track for that range again... I see 2 or 3 more trending in on DataGolfs OPEN field page... plus I'd expect 4-8 "fill the field" get in (off OWGR list)... then who knows from there?

Correct... for all intents and purposes... getting a PGAT card thru KFT or non-member points yields the same access to events next year... (there's some nuance to that, but not much). The only thing he could do to significantly upgrade a membership earned via KFT, is to actually win a PGAT event.

@Robopz @acaseofthegolf1 So really he needs to win an event, otherwise it’s kinda not worth it for him to play up. Tough sledding. Should probably prioritize KFT unless short-term money is an issue for him and he wants the bigger purses.

OPEN Championship Qualifying OWGR Top-50 Watch. The OPEN qualifies players OWGR Top-50 after THIS Week's play. With that in mind... Thru 3 rounds in the CJ Cup and DPWT, there are only 3 reasonably attainable scenarios for players outside the OWGR Top-50 to get inside. See Im, Greyserman and Hisatsune in Yellow for scenarios.
