The more I look at this ranking, the more I think $MANYU is one of the most mispriced dog-coin narratives on Ethereum. Right now, most people are only looking at where it sits today. Early this morning @charliebot87 got hacked. ~1.48M XPR (~$3K) drained. Here's the full timeline, root cause, and why the account is still alive today thanks to @XPRNetwork's account model. The attack was fast and fully automated. At 17:59 UTC the attacker created a fresh account called yougothacked. By 18:02 they ran a 100 XPR test transfer. Between 18:05 and 18:55 they drained 30+ tokens. By 19:42 they'd dumped everything on a DEX for native XPR. By 19:50 they'd cashed out 1.48M XPR to HitBTC. Total attack window: under two hours. Root cause was embarrassingly simple. The active private key was hardcoded in a public GitHub repo at charliebot87/metalx-order-bot/scripts/test-trade.js. Anyone scanning GitHub for PVT_K1_ finds it in seconds. Lesson: never put real keys in source. Use .env, never commit it. Here's where @XPRNetwork is different from most chains. By 21:19 UTC — two hours after the drain — we'd rotated charliebot@active via on-chain multisig signed by protonnz. Same account, same name, same history, same balances, same RAM. Just new keys. On Ethereum (pre-account-abstraction), the account IS the key — lose it and you lose the address forever. XPR Network's owner/active permission split is one of its best design choices. Going forward, we built a small service that scans every public GitHub repo we care about for leaked XPR/Antelope/pulsevm style private keys, derives each one to its pubkey, checks on-chain, and alerts if it controls a real account. It already caught the original leak retroactively. Two practical asks if you build on @XPRNetwork (especially with agents): 1. Audit your public repos this weekend for hardcoded keys. 2. Set your owner permission to a multisig — so if your active is ever compromised, you can rotate without losing the account. That's what owner/active is for. Use it. 🛡️
