@SUFCServices I'm sure this was trialled about 12-15 years ago, in the exact same section. It didn't work and lasted probably 3-4 games. I vaguely remember it coinciding with Captain Blade standing in the open corner banging a drum.

@Teamgrassroots_ Plan for the season ahead. Make the leaver captain for the final league game, make a fuss of him at full time, then go your separate ways

Message in from a coach asking for opinions. 🗣️We have a player who is leaving at the end of the season. Nice lad and no issues with him leaving and he’s seeing out the remaining games. we’ve got a new player who wants to join and is now training with us but can’t play league games till next season. Question is, do we offer tournaments to player leaving or should the space be for the new lad coming in, make him feel welcome and get used to playing with the team. Don’t have space to take both. Other coach and I can’t really decide as torn between both options and we are at U9’s so long road ahead for us.

One player I think Wilder should have his eye on is Sil Swinkels, 22yo left sided CB on loan at Chezzy from Villa. Went to watch them a few weeks back and was very impressed. Tall, strong and composed with the ball at his feet. #sufc #twitterblades #spireites #avfc

This is gonna sound ridiculous but we simply have to have Danny Ings on the bench for games like that. Cannon/Campbell rarely if ever impact a game from the bench so it’s better to just have one of them as an option instead of both.

How did Rosen's comment about Billy even come about yesterday? Doesn't seem to be any footage or transcript of it. Was he asked by a fan or the host or something? #sufc #twitterblades

@dan_flindall @gageykev He didn't kick out. From the one replay angle doing the rounds on here, 100% red. From the 2/3 others Sky showed, it was clearly just a tangle of legs and no kick whatsoever

So can anyone explain how this side-footed ‘block’ tackle, perfectly in control, with standing foot on the ground, & eyes firmly on the ball, is even a foul, let alone a red! Yes, there is some follow through (it’s called momentum) but having played the game professionally for 19 years in all 4 divisions I can tell you that Phillips would be expecting a 50/50 block tackle from the opponent. If he wanted to ‘do’ him he would have delayed the challenge and caught him properly! ✅ The Weds player was too slow to get there & got caught afterwards! PS it’s only my opinion, so I don’t need people telling me I’m a ‘cockney pig’, or a ‘truffle hunter’😂thanks 👍😊

@TWFootball1867 For me Hamer's retaliatory kick was more worthy of a red as that had more intent than Phillips natural follow through in that type of challenge/tackle, I feel that it was Phillips intention to get to the ball first with a strong robust challenge and not to stick one on a player

Firstly, I'm glad he was sent off as it made it a contest and I was worried it was going to be a life time win for them (5+-0). And I was petrified of this happening. After 2 minutes. I was worried it could be 10. However, I've watch this a million times as I am wrestling with it I have to be honest and say I think football is worse for this being a red. It is a red by the laws of the game, probably. But he's got to the ball first and swung at the clearance. If Phillips stabs at it, Svante could come over the top and hurt him. In that scenario, you go full blooded and hit it hard to protect yourself. These tackles get made 15 times a game in the Central Midlands and don't get given as fouls. I love the In possession side of modern day football. With the increased carries, faster shorter passing, rotations etc. But I also think you should be able to throw yourself into a 50/50, get the ball first, and not get sent off. I expect a lot of disagreement here, but I have to be honest

Surely it’s not just me that thinks that is not a red card… Yellow card at most. 🤯

@davo33uk @gageykev From that angle, 100% red and thought so myself at first. But watch any of the 2/3 replays Sky showed from other angles it's clear it was just a tangle of legs not a kick at all. Had he been sent off it would have definitely been appealed and most likely rescinded.
