I see traders asking how TPO actually works to find a trade / bias.
Here’s how Thursday and Friday set up two clean shorts.
Thursday – building the bias
Opened with a gap up, above prior value. That immediately has me thinking “acceptance or failure?”
There’s a volume shelf just above the open – I want to see that area rejected before committing to the short idea.
Once we reject the shelf and fall back into value, A-period rotates around the POC – no reason to chase, let the auction test.
B-period pushes back into yesterday’s VAH and fails. That’s where I start leaning into size: short against prior VAH with value not following price.
C-period continues one-timeframing lower, confirming seller control. From there the job is simple: hold for VAL, with FDT at the prior day low doing the heavy lifting.
Friday – continuation from the same map
Small gap down, opening in the lower end of value. No need for yolos – just ask, “does value accept lower or reject?”
The LVN just above the open rejects. That’s my trigger to get short, looking for a rotation back through VAL.
When VAL gives way, sellers keep control; add to the position and work the trade into the previous day’s low.
Save this if you’re struggling to turn TPO into an actual plan instead of just colorful letters.
