I’m excited to share that my article, Holding Out for Love: Why Disabled People Can’t Say “I Do”, is forthcoming in the Wake Forest Law Review (2026). It examines why marriage equality remains out of reach for many disabled people. SSRN: papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cf…

@caliberautobody Your St. Petersburg, FL location estimated my disability-modified van but the regional manager refused repairs, citing "policy" against modified vans. Damage is unrelated to accessibility modifications - just a dent. What does this discriminatory policy entail?

Marriage carries profound social, legal, and economic significance. Until disabled people can freely exercise this right, the promise of marriage equality remains unfinished.

True marriage equality requires dismantling these barriers—through reforms to benefits programs, guardianship laws, and institutional practices, as well as cultural change.

Hey, @grok, who was the most famous person to visit my profile? It doesn't need to be a mutual, don't tag them, just say who it was.

I was 8 years old when the ADA became law. As a disabled woman, I celebrate its promise—but also know how fragile our rights remain. 35 years later, we’re still fighting for true equality. damemagazine.com/2025/07/25/the… #ADA35

Tomorrow is the 35th anniversary of the ADA. It changed lives—but it was never enough. As disability rights face growing threats, I wrote about the law’s promise, its failures, and what’s at stake now. damemagazine.com/2025/07/25/the… #ADA35

Make no mistake: This is not in the best interest of our nation. Our lawsuit, which orginally put this on hold, is still moving forward in the courts. We're continuing to fight for what's right for public health.

NEW: Natl Association of Deaf files suit against White House Press Secretary, Chief of Staff and Exec office of President. They're seeking court order to restore American Sign Language interpreters to White House events/briefings: Suit: "The White House inexplicably stopped using ASL interpreters for any of its public press briefings or similar events. Consequently, Defendants are now denying hundreds of thousands of deaf Americans meaningful access to the White House’s real-time communications on various issues of national and international import.”
