Michael suggests making it a positive (want to do) vs. a "have to do" and celebrating those who are contributing :) Comment from the audience notes that internal use may help in identifying needs/priorities vs. only external (attendees, partners, etc.) #HCEA #DEI

And, for supplier partners... Jeannie suggests: 1. Be proactive in incorporating accessible elements 2. Watch your word choice Lisa adds: confirm recommendations fit accessibility needs Ryan adds: expand reach of RFP process (ask local chamber for recs, if needed) #HCEA #DEI

What can orgs do to address #DEI needs? Jeannie says: 1. Reach out to exhibitors to show where they can partner in solutions 2. Set example w/ inviting attendees, including accommodations... Lisa notes: distances, elevator access, affordable hotels are all important too #HCEA

"This doesn't end... it's a continuum... can you afford not to?" - Ryan re: how much focus on #DEI is needed (e.g. where does it end? how much will it cost?) Then, she continues with a starting point for all: ask "what can you do with what you have now? And then iterate." #HCEA
