Brent Smith just revealed that Shinedown's upcoming eighth studio album, 'Ei8ht', will be a massive 18-track double record. Speaking to Audacy Music's "Katie & Company," Smith confirmed the May 29 release via Atlantic Records: "It's 18 songs. It's essentially a double record... none of the songs are related to each other, but they exist on the same body of work." The album marks a departure from the conceptual approach of their last two records. Smith described the new project as a "rollercoaster ride" heavily influenced by vital career advice he received from his late friend, 3 Doors Down's Brad Arnold. Shinedown will support 'Ei8ht' on their 54-date "Dance, Kid, Dance Act II" world tour, followed by their Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend festival in October 2026. 📸 - AudacyMusic / YouTube

Sevendust frontman Lajon Witherspoon says the band has prayed together before every show since the beginning. In a new interview with Kati Rausch of Music Interview Corner, Lajon explained: “We pray together as a band. And if you happen to be here and you pass me, I’m gonna bring you in the prayer.” He added that Alter Bridge’s Brian Marshall joins them nightly on tour. Witherspoon says the ritual is about gratitude and safety: “I do a prayer to thank for everything that we have… and to make sure that everyone that shows up gets home safely too."
