The NBA bracket looks a little unrecognizable after Round 1, and if it feels a bit off, you aren't the only one feeling it. Seeing Nikola Jokic, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker all heading home this early is a genuine shock. Even the duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is watching from the sidelines way sooner than anyone scripted. It's just strange. We're so used to these names being the main characters of the story. Then you look around and realize the rest of the era's pillars are missing, too. No Steph Curry to provide the magic. No Giannis to give us that crazy playoff energy. And adding Kawhi Leonard to that list of early exits just makes the new reality sink in even harder. These are the guys who defined the game for a generation. They've given us legendary moments, and seeing them all cleared out of the way at once feels like a quiet shift. It's not that they've lost their greatness; it's just that the league is moving into a chapter we haven't learned how to read yet. It's okay to admit we weren't ready for this. Appreciate these guys while we have them, because if this postseason proved anything, it's that NOTHING in this league is guaranteed.
