We partnered with @PNSN1 to host the @UW summer camp for kids with autism. Every year Rockin' Out hosts this group to teach them all about #EarthScience! Thank you to Seismolab coordinator Doug Gibbons and ESS PhD student @Vero_volcanes for leading this visit!🤝

Today Rockin' Out coordinators @madeleine_earth and @annafindsrocks tabled at the @UW_SAFS Aquatic Science Open House! We showed kids different types of ocean rocks from marine sandstone to pillow basalt to fossils!

Rockin' Out hosted a public event here at @UW_ESS on "Learning about Earth through Art". The kids created chalk drawings of volcanoes & Earth's layers while also observing rocks from these Earth systems! Thanks volunteers @AlysaFintel @NiYiyu @madeleine_earth & Kim Sinclair

Last month Rockin' Out and @PNSN1 outreach programs collaborated to teach at @KidsQuestCM about earthquakes! The kids got to play with a real seismometer and test houses they built on shake tables. Thanks to our volunteers @amandasyamsul, @madeleine_earth and @bnjo13!

Over the weekend, our outreach team collaborated with @UW_ESS’s Rockin’ Out for a Danger-themed event at the KidsQuest Children's Museum to teach kids about earthquakes, how we monitor them, and the hazards they pose! They had a fun time making wiggles and marshmallow structures.
