We'll be posting popular songs rendered in Latin. Think you can guess the song? Stylistic suggestions and grammatical corrections welcome.

Very excited to be able to finally share a mostly-finalized schedule for the #OurVoices conference -- registration is still open, which is good because I imagine you'll want to sign up IMMEDIATELY after y'all get a look at these fantastic sessions! docs.google.com/document/d/18N…

@MrBoscovitch @apistone Congratulations to both of you, right on! I knew this one was not as broadly known, but it was too good to pass up using the "Last Remaining Light" for the last song. Plus it's a wonderful song, give it a listen when you have a chance!

Volve me in tuis agris glacialibus Frange ossa mea ut ea resanescentia observes Mersa me in tuis venis sitientibus Ubi observabo et opperiar et orabo imbrem Flecte sicut fumus et spira iterum Deorsum in fauces tuas, intra costas tuas, Per spinam tuam et omnem nervum #RoaminRomans

@apistone There are probably other better examples one could dig up were one so inclined, but I try to make it one of my guiding principles not to drive myself crazy trying for perfect "classical" latinity 😅

@apistone Full points! The Lewis and Short entry s.v. 'phalanx' (see link below) has an (admittedly late) exemplum of genitive used for the numbers of a group noun, which I think is the most likely interpretation of 'murder of one' here? perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/text?do…

Relinquebar fabricis meis Multi dies defluxerunt nihilo ostendu Et moenia proruebant In urbe amata nobis Canae nubes volvunt super colles Ferentes tenebras desuper At si clauditis oculos vestros, Sentitne paene sicut Nihil sane mutavit? #RoaminRomans

@coon_chris A very reasonable question! It's a misspelling of "ostentu" because I was tired when composing that translation. The English is "with nothing to show", and I decided to render that using an ablative supine form.
