Wie verlogen kann man sein? RuZZland 🇷🇺 behauptet, die Ukraine 🇺🇦 würde "unschuldige Studenten" in einem College in Starobelsk angreifen. Dabei zeigen sie selbst ganz stolz, wie sie genau dieses College als Militärbasis für Drohnen-Piloten und zur Rekrutierung missbrauchen. Die Studenten werden hier als Schutzschild instrumentalisiert und Angriffe auf ukrainische Zivilinfrastruktur und Zivilisten werden mit sowas gerechtfertigt. Tonight, the Russians struck Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities and communities. The largest number of missiles was directed at the capital – at ordinary residential buildings, at schools; they burned down a food market, one of Kyiv’s oldest markets. The Russian strike effectively destroyed the Chornobyl Museum, damaged the National Art Museum and the building housing the office of Germany’s ARD. As of now, 69 people have been reported injured in the capital. Tragically, two people were killed in this senseless Russian attack. My condolences to everyone who has lost family members and loved ones. I have already spoken with the President of France and the Prime Minister of Norway. There will be further communication with our partners today. I am grateful to everyone who is not staying silent about what Russia is doing. They are waging war solely against our people – against our memory, our history, and everything that makes up normal human life. It is important that Russia understands that they will be held accountable for all these crimes.

The moment of one of today’s Russian strikes on Kyiv. I can see that fewer and fewer people are reading news from Ukraine. I understand that on a Sunday morning, people don’t want to read about war. They want to sleep a little longer, drink good coffee, and sit in the sun. I understand that. The algorithms on X limit content about war, destruction, and suffering. You have to make an effort to even see this information. All of this is understandable on a human level. But unfortunately, if you remove Putin and the war from your information feed, they do not disappear from reality. Putin is a sadist and a maniac. He is a threat to all of humanity. There needs to be active resistance. News from Ukraine needs to be shared. People need to keep their focus. Despite a sleepless night, I’m still here. And I’m grateful to everyone who continues to stand with us. One day, we’ll drink morning coffee together in a beautiful, peaceful Kyiv.

È chiaro a tutti che la Russia di Putin è ormai avviata ad un inesorabile schianto. La cannibalizzazione economica in virtù della quale l’ostinazione militare sta divorando tutto il resto ed il conseguente avvitamento liberticida, che serve a schiacciare un paese che rischia di esplodere per la rottura del patto sociale (meno diritti in cambio di più sicurezza) da parte del regime, condurrà ad un crollo che potrebbe essere assai peggiore di quello dell’URSS. Lo smantellamento dell’impero sovietico, allora, fu infatti in qualche modo ammortizzato dalla presenza di una burocrazia di partito (il PCUS) che, seppur corrotta, garantì una transizione istituzionale. Oggi la Russia è invece uno Stato personalistico, privo di contrappesi. Se cade il vertice, non c'è una rete di sicurezza, ma solo il vuoto o lo scontro tra signori della guerra. Dopo il 1991, terrorizzato dall'anarchia nucleare e dall'instabilità geopolitica, l'Occidente applicò la dottrina del "Too big to fail" (troppo grande per fallire). Furono inviati aiuti umanitari, si stabilizzò l'economia, si integrò Mosca nel G7 e nei mercati globali. Ma oggi possiamo dirci, cinicamente lo riconosco, che fu un catastrofico errore di valutazione. Si curarono i sintomi economici, ignorando la malattia culturale. A differenza della Germania del 1945, costretta a guardare in faccia i propri orrori attraverso la capitolazione e la denazificazione, la Russia del 1991 è stata esentata dall'obbligo di fare i conti con la propria storia ed ha quindi vissuto la fine dell'URSS come un mero incidente burocratico. I crimini del KGB non sono mai stati processati, gli archivi sono rimasti in gran parte sigillati e l'apparato di potere sovietico si è semplicemente riciclato nella nuova oligarchia. Senza una catarsi storica, la popolazione russa non ha elaborato il lutto della fine dell'impero, ma ha interiorizzato gli aiuti occidentali come un'umiliazione, covando un risentimento che Putin ha cavalcato per vent'anni. Non avendo vissuto un trauma culturale profondo, il sistema politico russo opera dunque come una patologia recidiva. Putin non è un'anomalia storica o un meteorite caduto per caso sul Cremlino; è il prodotto logico e inevitabile di una cultura politica che non ha mai rinunciato al proprio istinto coloniale verso i paesi vicini. Se domani il regime collassasse e l'Occidente decidesse nuovamente di intervenire per "stabilizzare" la Russia, finanziando la sua ricostruzione in nome del pragmatismo, il ciclo si ripeterebbe identico: salirebbe al potere un leader apparentemente moderato o tecnico, seguirebbe la riapertura dei mercati, la Russia userebbe la ricchezza ritrovata non per modernizzarsi, ma per riarmarsi, ma alla fine la “fabbrica dei Putin” produrrebbe il nuovo zar, che risveglierebbe il nazionalismo revanscista, aggredendo un altro vicino. È un meccanismo biologico di autoalimentazione. Curare l'economia di un impero malato senza curarne la società significa solo finanziare la sua prossima metamorfosi autoritaria. Il prossimo crollo della Russia sarà dunque drammatico, caotico e spaventoso per le cancellerie occidentali. La tentazione di intervenire per mettere in sicurezza l'arsenale atomico e i corridoi energetici sarà forte. Ma cedere a questa tentazione significherebbe condannare le prossime generazioni a una nuova guerra eurasiatica. Una peggiore delle precedenti, visto che ad ogni giro di campo della storia, il “putinificio” russo perfeziona i suoi modelli, imparando qualcosa dagli errori del passato. La coesistenza pacifica con il resto del mondo richiede un prerequisito non negoziabile: la rinuncia definitiva alle ambizioni imperiali. Poiché la società russa ha dimostrato di non saper avviare questo processo da sola, l'isolamento e lo schianto economico diventano gli unici vettori di cambiamento rimasti. Il compito dell'Occidente non sarà quello di ricostruire la Russia, ma di erigere un cordone sanitario invalicabile attorno ai confini della NATO e dell'Europa, proteggendo i paesi democratici dalle schegge dell'esplosione. La Russia deve essere lasciata sola davanti alle sue macerie materiali e morali. Solo quando avrà esaurito ogni illusione di grandezza imperiale, potrà forse nascere una generazione di russi libera dal virus del revanscismo. Fino ad allora, il miglior aiuto che possiamo dare alla Russia è lasciarla cadere.

russian occupation is not peace. Lera Dzhemilova, a young Crimean woman suffering from epilepsy, was abducted by russian forces after a raid on her home in occupied Crimea. After a staged arrest, she disappeared into the hands of the FSB. For months, her family had no idea where she was or whether she was even alive. In the Simferopol detention center, her epileptic seizures became more frequent while she was reportedly denied proper medical care. Now russia is deporting her thousands of kilometers away to a penal colony deep inside russia. The forced transfer of civilians from occupied territories is prohibited under the Fourth Geneva Convention and may constitute a war crime. This is what russian occupation really looks like. Fear. Disappearances. Prison camps. Human suffering.
