@GovUganda whoever came up with this idea is on the other side digging the grave he or she will bury you and your entire regime. I pity you.

Call for Global Protests Against Uganda’s “Sovereignty” Bill Ugandans in the diaspora and friends of Uganda, We are calling for peaceful demonstrations worldwide this coming week. Mobilize your communities and turn out in large numbers at Ugandan embassies and high commissions. The so-called “Sovereignty Bill” adopted from Russia and North Korea is not a shield for Uganda, it is a weapon to silence its people, especially those in the diaspora. This legislation threatens to criminalize our ability to support our families, invest in our country, participate in civic life, and demand accountability. The bill effectively classifies Ugandans abroad as “foreign agents” and places ordinary family support including school fees, medical care, basic survival under state suspicion and control. Museveni’s regime under this bill shall require diaspora members to acquire permission and a certificate from the Minister of internal affairs to engage in politics, invest in Uganda, or support our own families. This is not sovereignty. It is repression. For decades, the regime of Yoweri Museveni has restricted dissent at home. This bill extends that repression beyond Uganda’s borders targeting the diaspora whose voice, resources, and advocacy remain a vital lifeline. But this moment has also revealed something powerful; unity. From business owners to workers, from civil society to families. Ugandans everywhere are rejecting this law. We cannot be silent when our rights, our families, and our future are at stake. This law does not protect Uganda, it protects power. And we reject it. Join the Diaspora protests in your region this week to say No to this draconian bill. In solidarity, Dr. Daniel Kawuma NUP Diaspora Team Leader Email: teamleader@diasporanup.org #StopTheSovereigntyBill #RejectTheSovereigntyBill #DiasporaVoicesMatter
