benioff and weiss absolutely buy too much into Tywin Aura but it makes perfect sense to give one of your principal antagonists something to do on screen for a season and it allowed Arya to have a more interesting dynamic than her having out with Roose Bolton for 8 episodes

The thing that defines Hasan, Code Pink, and most of the DSA-extended-universe convoy members is not complicated. It's "America Bad". Look, sometimes America is bad. But that's quite literally the only lens they're capable of seeing the world through. It's why the DSA cozied up to Maduro. It's why Hasan thinks the Houthi terrorists are so cool and said America deserved 9/11. If something is against America, it's good. End of story. They don't have an ideology beyond that.

@finestsoup Carrie isn't my favorite but like, it's really obvious why she would be for a lot of people. TDKR is obviously the most popular and iconic Robin story of all time. Nothing else even comes close.

I don't think Jorginho is lying here because I don't think he'd have any reason to, but why is everyone assuming that Chappell deliberately sicced the security guard on this little girl rather than the far more likely possibility that the guy was on a power trip and went rogue?

@comicskirby Basically, like with any subject, a writer needs to be familiar with the major works before writing about it, though continuity doesn't have the main concern. The Dark Knight Returns is absolutely in the essential canon of Batman works, even though it's not in-continuity.

@comicskirby That said, I do still think the writer should be aware of continuity even if you're gonna discard it. Not that you have to read every single issue, but a Batman writer should have at least read Year One and such before doing their own take. You have to know what you're revising.
