Following on from my earlier article...it’s incredibly disappointing to see @theburntpeanut hit AGAIN by DDOS attacks while streaming Sea of Thieves. At this point, you couldn’t blame him or the crew if this is the last time they even attempt to stream the game as he stated. It’s just not worth it for them. This is a terrible look for both the game and the wider community, not just because it disrupts a stream, but because it sends a message that this kind of behaviour is tolerated. New players see this and think twice about getting involved in our game. Creators who try and help keep the game alive are pushed away. Instead of celebrating the passion and energy around the game, we’re watching it get undermined by a handful of people who just want to ruin it for everyone else. That’s the sad part...the community should be lifting moments like this up, not tearing them down. On the flip side, it was genuinely great to hear Peanut speak with so much passion about using his own resources to track down those responsible and push for real consequences, even jail time. Something has to change.
