Horrible news this morning that Graham Thorpe has died, aged 55. I interviewed him a million years ago, at the team hotel when my son was just 3 years old. My babysitter didn't turn up, so I had to take George with me. After talking to Graham, I interviewed Mark Butcher, and Graham said he'd look after George while we chatted. When I came out of the interview with Butch, I found Graham had taken George to the team room and was teaching him to play pool along with the other players. I walked in, and he said: 'We wouldn't mind him playing, but he's beating us all.' George was beaming with joy at the whole thing as he swung the cue around with reckless abandon. What an incredibly kind, sensitive, warm and decent man. Thinking of his family and his many, many friends at this horrible time. #GrahamThorpe #cricketfans #cricket @bbctms @TheBarmyArmy
