I have nothing against people who ship Yuri, but the argument that it doesn't happen because of censorship always cracks me up because it ignores where Hoyoverse came from. These days, they've simply moved away from that and prefer to use everything as bait so as not to ruin any ship.(Just to mention that, until a few months ago, Mei and Kiana shared a discreet kiss in Part 2 of HI3)

Personally,I don't see them as romantic, but I understand why other does. A lot of Series in general tend to develop relationships between same-gender characters much more.

The only one that bothers me is in the Obi-Wan series, but that's more 'cause of how that series developed than 'cause of his appearance itself.

BUT, you also can't have characters gaining ground against the Empire and not have Vader do something about it.
