Enjoy the recap of Westlake’s series win over Vandegrift as the Chaps win the Bi-District Championship in extra innings. Westlake will play O’Connor in the Area Championship. #GoChaps

Westlake claws back in the 8th inning to score four runs highlighted by a two-run double by Lane Johnson, a sacrifice fly by Owen Strain and a Hayden Chung RBI single. Nicolas Thompson retired the Vipers in the 8th to win the Bi-District Championship, 8-4. #GoChaps

@JWonCATCHING Appreciate u talking about the right ft. Even more importantly the LF ft. I see no one w/influence speak about the importance of the left foot. Reality is you can’t throw from catcher position until the left foot is in the ground. Faster RT ft, faster LF, faster throw =lower pop

No wasted lower half moves. This catcher really gets his right foot into the ground quickly. The goal is .03 or faster. It’s right behind left & left to the target.

New YouTube video is going to help a lot of hitters stop hitting across the ball, hammering pullside ground balls, over rotating through contact, hooking balls into the side of the cage. Those days need to be over once you watch this video. 🎥- youtu.be/OtAgHUn3VRA?si…

@USABaseCoach Adding 1 more step to this. I see catchers with a quick right foot & transfer but slow left foot. I haven’t seen 1 video discussing the importance how fast the left foot gets in the ground. The faster the right in the ground means the faster left hence the faster the release.

Catchers: Do your feet keep up with your hands? Teaching a quick right foot down helps make every throw quicker and cleaner 🤝

I’m excited and grateful to announce my commitment to continue my academic and baseball career at Oklahoma State University. I want to thank God, my family, coaches, and teammates for their constant support and guidance throughout this journey. I’d also like to thank the Oklahoma State baseball staff for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. I’m looking forward to what’s ahead — Go Pokes! #Committed @OSUBaseball @joshhollidayosu @MarkGinther3 @cobber_22 @OsuVicRomero @TESTBSBCLUB @CedarParkBSBL

@JLucroy20 There is only 1 way to fully “understand” what it feels like to play at that level. Only about 23,000 people have done it since 1871. So of the about 21 billion people lived since that time, about .000011% have experienced it. Thats about as “brainy” as I can get.

Been saying this for years. After my many interactions with the brain guys, you start to notice things… To be clear there were some good ones with great feel and respect for the players and clubhouse. But there were many that were hardcore opposite. Power move for them.

Advanced analytics were created so the players that were cut from JV that loved baseball could still be part of the game after they finish out college at Ivy League From stuffed in the lockers to being asked for advice. They were never turning this opportunity down

@TheDA53 I can hear that however being in that situation, a strike called or not is the last thing of concern, imo.

@Rojo1032 I think the catcher was so arguing that it was a swing. He never saw the throw and when he looks up he was like “what the hell”

@TreadHQ @T_Zombro24 Although ur point is understandable I don’t fully agree. Here’s a different perspective. Good change up’s need to play off fastballs in order to be effective. If a pitcher only throws 4-seam fb then a 2-seam changeup is recognizable. An effective pitch is one that disrupts timing

Should every pitcher grip a 2-seam changeup? 🧐 Performance Specialist @T_Zombro24 makes his case for why every pitcher should at least try to throw a changeup with a 2-seam orientation.
