If experiencing symptomatic illness, a good heuristic in the U.S. is that there's presently about a 50% chance it's COVID. The CDC has a nice dashboard tracking what's circulating: cdc.gov/nrevss/php/das… You'll see on average colds are just a bit more common than COVID right now, and everything else is very low. However, it varies a lot by region. For example, HHS regions 4, 6, & 9 (basically the entire South + California) have an even higher proportions of colds relative to Covid. In other regions, it's mostly the reverse. The Walgreens dashboard also provides an estimate of Covid versus non-Covid illness among people with symptoms severe enough to seek testing there, but the level of testing varies considerably by state. walgreens.com/healthcare-sol…
