The fact that Arteta and his staff were claiming handball straight away and not for a foul shows they didn’t think it was a foul on Raya. That says it all. Nowhere near clear and obvious.

@Rory_Talks_Ball This is a VAR issue Rory. Take your Arsenal hat off, watch what he was shown. He got hardly any of the Trossard incident, and was shown the Raya foul first. He made the right choice based on what he was shown.

Just listened to the VAR audio from Arsenal vs West Ham. Feel sorry for the ref tbh. They review it, highlight two issues, then get him over, don't show him the full incidents and don't show it in order. Based on what he saw he makes the right call

As an Arsenal fan, I can't lie, we've been grappling and wrestling goalkeepers all season. I can understand why West Ham and football fans in general are angry. Plus all the other fouls in that incident.. hope we still win the league but the anger is fully justified

I think it's fine for some of you to just say, 'I don't like Arsenal and don't want them to win the league' rather than pretending you have some kind of moral objection based on play style or a VAR call or whatever. It just looks sour, be honest about where you are coming from.

There’s a foul on todibo, mavropanos AND the West Ham goalie. But they rule it out for an arm across the goalie. Fair play Arsenal it’s a huge result and guaranteed them the title but I don’t wanna hear winging about refs after that and the atleti game. They’re getting away with murder.

It's been a really tough season for Martin Odegaard. Horrible, unfortunate injuries. In and out of the team, constantly being questioned. He'll admit it himself that at times he hasn't been at his best when he has been fit and available. But that cameo today off the bench, that assist for Trossard.... The way he took responsibility, went and got the ball, broke the game open and made the decisive moment happen. Outstanding. A captain's moment when his team needed him the most. You could see what it meant to him.

@Chelsearory What about fans who cheer goals scored against their own team? Presumably they are ‘friends’ of the game?

Clear as day how desperate they were to overturn it. 10 minutes and 100 angles to find something that is apparently ‘clear and obvious.’ Anyone who still backs the idea of VAR in football is an enemy of the game.

As many Manchester United fans have pointed out, Arsenal won at Old Trafford with a goal from a corner that wasn’t disallowed after a review and a dozen replays. And then there’s the foul from Rice that arguably started before the arm on Raya. This impacts not only the title but potentially a relegation costing north of £100m. Zero consistency, zero need. Get. Rid.
