This crowd is listening to you because they are presumably struggling with something that YOU can help them fix. The sooner you focus on HELPING, and not on “what if I look silly?,” the sooner that fear will dissipate.

Get them to engage with the content. Cheer them on as they shift from passive to active. Try role-playing an example together. Have them teach concepts back to a neighbor. Anything to get them moving.
