@kctorawrites Descriptors (ie. Screamed, yelled, seethed, hissed, murmured, mumbled, mused) or just adding to the scene (ie. His raised brow added to the displeasure in his tone).

I’ve read writing advice to mainly use “said” for dialogue tags. I try, but it becomes repetitive. Today I wrote “hissed” because the spiteful little woman hisses her Ss when she talks. What else do you use besides “said”? #writingcommunity

@roninmercllc @MaryEMcKnight I self published my first book (under my pen name) and within a couple weeks of publishing had a contract with a TPH. Maybe go that route? With Half a million waiting to read it at the very least you’ll make some money. 🤷‍♀️

@MaryEMcKnight I have roughly half a million readers who have been waiting since 2017 to read this book. 250 people still read the sample every month but because the industry doesn't want to do its job, no one will get to read it. If they can't sell that, they can't see one that doesn't.

I sent my last Query today. Aside from one or two agents who are currently closed, I have sent queries for my WIP to EVERY agent who lists my genre(over 200+), and not a single one has bothered to read my book. The industry is just too broken for anyone to hope to succeed. I quit

@cornerwrite I LOOK for books with one and two stars on them. I don’t trust a book that doesn’t have them. If there are no one star reviews the book doesn’t elicit enough emotion for me. 🤷‍♀️ (plus, I love to read the one star reviews that rated it one star for the most insane reasons lol)
