Each day's battle in the Sell-Side bracket is like a little taste of Supply Path Optimization. Which company will be removed from the tournament's ads.txt file, heavyweight @RubiconProject or French champs @SmartAdServerEN?

Meanwhile, Google’s rivals in ad serving have been leaving the business. “The ad tech industry is like a cemetery,” said one antitrust lawyer.

Even as they compete—increasingly unsuccessfully—against Google properties like search and YouTube for ad dollars, virtually every major news publisher you can think of Google’s tools to place ads.

@samtingleff @AdMonsterGavin @SmartAdServerEN Google could put SSP at the exact same level than DSP but let publishers manage the financial relationship. All features of the RTB engine would apply (ad quality etc) I for instance never understood why Ad Manager ad rules or reporting could not apply directly to EBDA partner.

@AdMonsterGavin @SmartAdServerEN Probably depends on the meaning of "managed". A direct financial relationship, maybe. But I cannot see google allowing pubs to throw in arbitrary bidder URLs (match rates, ad quality, malware, etc).

@adtechtroll @doubleverify @larakiara Isn't the whole thing that the scammers make a deal with the original site in order to have their SSP seat listed in the original ads.txt file and then generate bot traffic on a spoofed domain mimicking the original site??? If it is the case, it is good to educate pubs about it.
