I’ve avoided any prognostications about @spencerpratt chances because he has one job right now: embarrass @nithyavraman into early retirement. Once the dust from top two settles, we can properly analyze the general election. But allow me to offer a proper comparison, rather than the partisan declarations that Pratt has no chance: the 2022 election. Bass beat Caruso by less than ten points. In fact, for a brief moment, before the ballot harvesting tallies, he was in the lead. That’s before the fires, against a candidate who didn’t inspire anyone. Pratt is running a next level campaign compared to Caruso. There’s just no comparison there. Can Pratt close that gap of under 100,000 votes? That’s a big job. But he’s the one to be able to do it.

Honestly I'd rather talk about movies than politics. I'd rather get a bunch of movie geeks arguing. The problem is they're so intertwined these days that I'll step on landmines no matter what. Plus a mayor election that affects the entertainment business. What a time.

> They deleted it I'm telling you, Democratic party morale is in the absolute toilet right now. Their key roles are filled by true believer radicals who constantly embarrass the center leftists/ boomer types who know how electorally disastrous this type of stuff is.

The reason why I'm voting for @spencerpratt is simple. My two children are teenagers. For their entire lives, I've driven them past homeless encampments in West LA, Skid Row in DTLA, and tent cities in the valley. They've seen homeless people poop on the shoulder of the 405 freeway and people shooting up in front of houses. Like a broken record, I repeat the same story over and over. "It wasn't like this when I was growing up in the 80s and 90s." But for my kids, this is their "normal." If it got this bad from my time to their time, then what is it going to be like when they're my age?

In his 20s he was seen as an annoying rich kid with a squeaky voice. He was privileged, and a dilettante. A total outsider with no political ambition. He then faced personal tragedy. In a single day, in the same house, he lost both his young wife and his mother. He did not collapse and he did not stay to be consoled. He left for the Dakota Badlands, the raw edge of the American frontier, and spent two years roping cattle, riding through blizzards, and chasing down outlaws. The hardship burned the softness out of him. He came back steadier, harder, and unmistakably serious, a man who had been broken and had rebuilt himself by hand. He eventually become the 26th President of the United States. Never underestimate the power of loss to transform an inexperienced person into a great leader.

I'm a mess, which is a bad time to tweet. It's Memorial Day, which means I've spent a lot of today thinking about the past, about the lost, about the people who built the world that we have inherited. But I've also been thinking about @xwanyex recent commentary about the nature of immigration and who "deserves" a country Today is Memorial Day. I went to the graves of my brother and my grandfather. I owe them so much. So does everyone. They did a lot of underappreciated work. Many of the immigration tweets Wanye points to are people saying "I succeeded in your country while you failed. Ha ha ha, I'm awesome and you suck". And, sure, this might be a particularly caustic example of that attitude, but is it really that rare? If immigrants love this country in particular, do they love the people who made it? Because they don't frequently say so. And if they love the people who made this country, the country that enabled them to have all the good things that they brag about, do they love the children of those people? Are they thankful to the grandchildren of the people who built the country that enabled their wild success? Or do they hold those grandchildren in disdain? How would a grandparent who built a world of tremendous opportunity and success respond if they saw someone who benefitted from that world telling their grandchild that they were a piece of garbage because they didn't build a billion dollar company? I'm thinking about this a lot now, largely because it's being shoved in my face. I'm not feeling particularly forgiving about this topic.

@SinaiLawFirm Oof Culver City is painful. You know I got a ballot measure going requiring voter approval for rent control? @MayorOfLA herself had to step in and lie about it ending tenant protections. In the end they barely defeated it.

There is a new feature on X that not a lot of people know about, but you need to know. It used to be a mystery how random accounts with a few hundred followers, but spreading basic Dugin-style divide-and-demoralise slop meant to weaken the West, were plucked from obscurity by the algorithm and broadcast to millions of people in Western nations. But now we know, since “reposts” are ordered by the size of the account, not just by most recent as before. And as you can see, the accounts that made the pro-Massie messaging go viral are mostly Third Worldists, “Global South” accounts—some literally with the flag of Pakistan, others based in “Asia” and Turkey. If X wanted to, they could stop this overnight. Which also explains why Massie lost, and why people like him will continue to lose all across the West. They aren’t actually popular; they just think they are. They are getting their shoes inflated by bots and foreign spammers. The people pushing them don’t even care if they win. The chaos is the goal.

For the record I liked Massie for years. Tucker and others too. But my common sense forces me to be wary of those attempting to sabotage the mandate Trump was given in ‘24. Jumping ship at the very moment real change was possible stinks. Sorry, it just does.

My wife was just threatened, almost spit on, and called a bitch right outside our home while holding our 6 month old here in Santa Monica. By a homeless man always walking our neighborhood. So you see, I really don't have a choice but to run for office. Help isn't coming.

Joe Rogan can’t believe Karen Bass is predicted to win but wants Spencer Pratt to be the mayor of Austin if he loses in LA. @joerogan "Imagine that. She burned down the entire Pacific Palisades by not having any water in the hydrants, and they’re like, yeah, but let’s give her another chance... I’m glad we moved, dude." @tomsegura "Yeah."
