@RonChak @alexarmstead I'm sorry but beautiful as they are, I wonder if those of us in the tv bubble attach too much importance to the "closer", sometimes you wonder if they are made for the viewer or the gratification of those producing them.

The combination of a Winter Olympics in Europe and a number of @TeamGB medal contenders led to some great @BBCSport TV audiences over the last 16 days. Very proud of the production teams who have worked so hard to bring the Games to so many viewers.

Audience peak of 5.5m for the Men's Curling on BBC2 last night. Highest Winters peak since the Women's Curling Gold in Salt Lake 24 years ago. Given the additional online viewing probably the best since Torvill & Dean. Still gutted for the boys. @BBCSport #WinterOlympics2026

Shocked and saddened to hear that Jets great Nick Mangold has passed away aged just 41. Met him briefly after one of their Wembley games and he was a lovely guy. RIP Nick.

Sad to hear of the passing of Paul Dickenson. Back in Sydney, I took this pic in the mixed zone after Denise won gold. Paul was a top man and a joy to work with, and his wonderful voice will forever grace some of GB's most iconic moments in Summer and Winter Olympics. RIP Dicko.
