Trump is president because of the people who supported Clinton, Biden & Harris for the Democratic nomination. We did not vote for Trump. The escalation of killings by Israel started under Biden/Harris and Harris made it clear she would continue to support Israel & Forever Wars.

Plus the Democratic Party has moved to the right of independents on key issues. Centrists might do better in closed Democratic primaries but don't turn out the votes to win in general elections. Centrist Democrats who differ little from Republicans don't give people reason to vote for them.

It’s so funny to me that moderate and conservative democrats can have a ten million dollar cash advantage, win by 5%, and then act like it was a referendum on ideology. That’s just not how low turnout primary elections work, it’s money, name ID and turnout.

Support for Israel plummets among Democrats. If Harris had won most Democrats would be supporting her wars & attacks on civil liberties, as under Biden. Republicans would win the midterms. I was limiting this to one event--the build up to the Iraq war. Other presidents could be tried for other war crimes. For example, Obama did not support the initial decision to go to war so gets off on this one, but could similarly be tried for his bombing additional countries once in office.

@RonChusid I disagree. I think we strongly support some things that we knew electing Trump would imperil. Where we disagreed with Clinton and Biden, we resolved to push for different policies in some areas while still supporting anyone who would be a bulwark against… this. Priorities.

True but also look at the last three Democratic candidates. Biden and Clinton strongly supported the Iraq war. Harris ran on unconditional support for Israel. These are bipartisan Forever Wars.
