Just returned from a dream vacation in NYC celebrating our 37th anniversary. We always stay at the same boutique hotel that we first stayed at 27 years ago. Since that 1st stay, we like to recreate the image we first took. Here is the 1st one compared to this year’s.

Happy Valentine’s Day. Apparently the Miami Zoo is doing an $200 Valentine’s special. You bring your significant other and you watch animals from all around the world have sex. @OfficialCrowder says it’s a way to lower your inhibitions. I think it’s weird. I get it, animals don’t have the wherewithal to know what’s appropriate, they only do it “doggystyle”, & seeing an elephant’s elephant hood doesn’t make me want to get my manhood going later! Today, Bubbles, a chimpanzee at Zoo Miami, celebrated her 63rd birthday, making her the oldest chimpanzee on record in ZIMS (Zoological Information Management Software) in North America! She was very happy with the special treats she received as part of the celebration!

I felt incredibly lucky to capture this image of "Petaka," arguably the most famous wild puma in the world, during my recent visit to Patagonia. She has been well-documented by the BBC and Nat Geo in documentaries about this amazing "ghost cat." So proud and majestic!

@PimpinVanSmack @Rainmaker1973 Though it is certainly possible, I am always now hesitant to believe anything I see on the internet due to AI. With that said, I have seen that happen with a manatee so I’m assuming it’s possible with a whale.

A dead whale passes gas for the very last time, ejecting all of its rotting internal organs into the sea. These events are rare, but happen when the methane, produced by the decomposition is trapped by the thickness of the muscle tissue and blubbery skin.

@SarahSpain Hi Sarah! It’s not easy. Elephants can have low hanging bellies without being pregnant. A telltale sign is if the breasts are swollen with clearly evident nipples. Right before birth, the nipples will be dripping!

@RonMagill Can you tell if an elephant is pregnant just by looking? This gal has a very low-hanging belly, has been hanging out alone, moving very little, etc while the rest of the herd moves around.

This mongoose lemur was very focused on me as I walked by its habitat today. I love the intensity of this primitive primate's eyes!

@toddotto No question they were stressed, but they survived because of that bathroom!
