There are so many open sourced table formats; hudi, iceberg, deltalake but not many new standalone query engines. Why is that? Spark dominance?

@rajkrsen @mim_djo @rajko_rad @gorkem @chimerasaurus Yes, you can MERGE into Iceberg tables. Native table support for Iceberg (ability to write Iceberg was announced at Summit). Iceberg External Tables (read-only) was announced previously and is still available.

@mim_djo @rajko_rad @gorkem Vendor Benchmarks are useless. Snowflake support for Iceberg table is very limited. Cannot ingest directly to Iceberg unlike Delta and Hudi
