Watching @UConnHuskies vs @MarquetteMBB right now. Coach Hurley just got ejected with 1.0 left. He was right to be furious on the NO-Call. The ejection was justified because you can’t touch the referee, but that should’ve been a foul for Demary, who would’ve had a chance to tie the game at the FT line. Should’ve been called.

@RichDailyMail @GEHS_Spartans @TheWVSSAC I don’t see a lead official. Is the lead official the one trailing the play? Was this off a turnover or something? Positioning is everything with officiating. And sometimes even the best officials get caught out of position.

Evidently, 3 officials missed @GEHS_Spartans Darius Burns’ foot, which is clearly OVER the line on a 3 to force OT on Feb. 28 vs. visiting Hurricane. The loss isn’t on the refs, but this is about as bad as it gets under the circumstances. @TheWVSSAC #WVPrepBB

@SportsTalk_304 @edrforshey But let’s be honest, these polls are meaningless. My senior year we finished #23 in the USA Today poll football poll. We had 1 player from that team go D1. We were not likely the 23rd best team 😂

I'm not talking about a Wheeling Central compared to a Morgantown type recruiting, because there's very little difference between the 2. I'm talking about the difference between like Huntington High and Huntington Prep when it comes to these national rankings. One school might have someone transfer in from a neighboring town, the other is recruiting from all over the country (and world) and has very few local kids.

I wish we'd start separating private/prep schools and public schools in national rankings. It's not fair that we compare schools that recruit with schools that can't. It's like ranking P4 colleges with D3 colleges

@WestByGodWV It’s actually legal. Kind of a rule flaw imo. But if they deem it a legitimate attempt to block the shot, the backboard slap is ignored. At least that’s the hs rule.

@edrforshey @WVBBALLTAKES304 Agree this is fantastic for the kids. One of my fondest memories of hs basketball isn’t a varsity game, it’s when our green vs gold 2 freshman teams played in front of the student body.

I got a love hate relationship with wvu. It wasn’t always pretty, and it def wasn’t perfect but I met lifelong friends &some great ppl along the way. Still hold the school record in steals. Still the last player to avg 20 a game. History don’t get erased just bc feelings changed.
