Go to 20 teams, with all 10 FBS conferences getting an auto bid. Use straight seeding. Lowest eight seeds play in the first round with a re-seed to follow. That should give the top seeds an easier go in their first game, as well as one home contest.

More evidence that Rust > Rest. In 6 CFP quarterfinals so far, every team with a bye has trailed at halftime with a cumulative deficit after 30 minutes of 101-21. No bye team has scored more than 8 points in the first half. Ohio State last night and Texas Tech today were shut out in the first half. Good omen for Alabama and Ole Miss.

@DougZaleski Buford, Ga. = Carmel, Ind. There's some BIG bucks there in the northern Atlanta suburbs. They also have a 6K basketball arena. Buford's usually in the mix come state finals time. They are a legit football power. I can only imagine how Valdosta, Lowndes, etc., will respond.
