An incredibly heavy heart having been told of the passing of John Robertson, Forest's greatest ever player, my coach at Leicester and one of the loveliest, kindest hearted humans I've met. As a kid he was a hero on Star Soccer with his beguiling wing play, trademark shoulder drop, go past the fullback and cross. When I finally got to Forest I wore white tape under my shinpads in homage to him. At Leicester with Martin O'Neill he knew of my issues and problems and instead like many, who mocked them, he put a literal arm around me, had words of empathy and kindness and genuinely gave me support. The fact that the lads at Leicester loved him so much was a joy to see, a living legend getting a lot of love from a hard nosed, experienced dressing room. When I retired and started doing radio, I'd often be at Villa Park, the radio point being near the tunnel. More than once I'd see a plume of ciggy smoke coming from the tunnel an hour after the end of a game, Robbo would poke his head around the corner and say "I'm listening! I can f***** hear you from here!". Last time I saw him was at the World Famous City Ground where we sat together in a box watching the Trickies. He regaled everyone with great stories, humour and that something extra that he, and another great man dearly missed, Trevor Francis, had. A warmth that years of the gnarly industry that is pro football never dimmed nor affected. He was just "Robbo", a giant of my childhood, a giant of a club we both were lucky enough to represent, but a good man, just a bloody good man. Sending all my love to Robbo's family and friends, to everyone at Forest and those who were lucky enough to spend time with him. Last year it was Gary Shaw, this year Robbo, the footballing Gods haven't been so kind in recent years. Robbo, you'll be sorely missed, thank you for your inspiration as a player, your support as a coach and lasting legacy as a lovely human being. Rest in peace, Robbo.

@GillsInTheBlood Well said. Clubs like @HarrogateTown have done remarkably well to rise through the leagues and establish themselves in the @EFL.

More pathetic than this post? Each of those that travelled spent their hard earned money to come all this way to support their club. The amount of them is irrelevant.

Pantomime Dame Andrea Jenkyns who’s many sandwiches short of a full picnic, claims “they” were stealing ducks off the river in Boston. Can someone tell her there’s a centuries old problem in Lincolnshire (& other places) of people nicking birds to eat - it’s called poaching. And it’s got bugger all to do with migrants.

A decision as dangerous as it is disgraceful if we are going to be banning players retrospectively without definitive proof. Was it a penalty? No, likely not. Is there categoric evidence that proves McCleary went to ground without any contact or to deceive an offical? Not at all, he was clearly having his shirt tugged before he eventually went over the keeper. Players will be getting back dated bans for every little incident if this is the route the game is going down now. Has the Bromley centre half been given a retrospective yellow for holding onto Andy Smith’s shirt in the box for a significant period first half? Will their gaffer Andy Woodman be punished for saying he’d want his own player to do the same if the shoe was on the other foot?

Just sat down and caught up on all the latest at @MorecambeFC and truly gutted to read that there is still nothing in the way of a positive update. Genuinely cannot get my head round how one man’s ego is so large it’s stopping him from seeing the bigger picture that is a club at the heart of its community, hardworking staff who need paying to provide for families & fan base that is that close to losing something that has been a constant for over a century. Jason Whittingham, if you had even a shred of integrity you would take the offer on the table but sadly I don’t think one single person thinks you do. #JasonOut #UTS 🦐

@BoothCricket Ludicrous. These slow rates are ripping off the public who are paying a lot of money and should get full value for it. Make them play until at least 90 overs have been bowled. The grounds all have floodlights.

A drinks break at 6.12pm with 19 overs to be bowled in 18 minutes, and the umpires just stand there, hands on hips, with all the authority of a pair of wet lettuces.

@StokeyyG2 Thanks for setting out this horrible saga. All decent fans will wish Morecambe well. It's just too easy for these dodgy owners to get hold of clubs. Far too many seem to find their way to non-league. It's easy to forget the impact this can have on local businesses too.
