A grand day celebrating 200 years since the formation of the world's first municipal fire service in Edinburgh at St Giles Cathedral.

@stackofire @WM_GMFRS_BA We do used charged lengths of 45 mm hose during hot fire training during initial BA,and teach hose management on stairs and moving through buildings here at Newbridge

@WM_GMFRS_BA What??? Using the hose that we are expected to use at fires in training? That will never catch on 😛😀 Great work Dave.

Day one of the latest BA Initial training courses. Today my trainers have changed our approach somewhat by introducing managing charged jets at an early stage. They offer much higher flow rates at fires although they are more difficult to handle than hose reels.
