I was really glued to the TV when Aho was answering Hannah’s questions. Those are the most interesting answers I’ve heard from Aho. Loved it. This team is different y’all. They really want it. #soundthesiren
Men of the Carolina Regiment—
On this cold and hostile ground, deep within the enemy’s own territory, you have delivered a third consecutive defeat upon the Ottawa force. Not once, not twice, but thrice have they stood before you—and thrice have they been cast down. Let it be known: there is no refuge for them, not even upon their own frozen battlefield.
You have fought with discipline, with fury, and with unshakable resolve. The enemy believed their home would grant them strength… yet it has only served as the stage for their unraveling.
I call forth now those whose valor burned brightest in the heat of battle—
Corporal Stankoven—your relentless assault and sharp execution struck fear into their ranks and broke their lines.
Private First Class Blake—your courage and timely strikes turned the tide when the moment demanded it most.
Corporal Miller—your command and precision carried the fight forward and ensured our dominance was never in question.
These men stand as examples to you all—proof that victory favors not just the bold, but the prepared and the united.
But hear me clearly—this campaign is not yet finished.
The enemy staggers. They falter. They retreat in spirit, though not yet in full. Tomorrow, we march again upon Ottawa soil, and we shall deliver the final blow that sends them into complete and utter retreat. No quarter, no mercy—only victory.
Stand ready. Sharpen your steel. Rest, but do not grow comfortable.
For we march not just to defeat an enemy—but to continue our pursuit of Lord Stanley’s prize.
Forward, men—toward glory.

@nut_history An old guy who fell in love with hockey 11 years ago. Now a Carolina season ticket holder. Completely obsessed. Wish I would have played as a boy.
Are you a hockey fan?
Who’s your favourite player?
Till this day, Patrick Roy is all-time favourite player. But I also loved Kovalev when he was with the Habs - unfortunately he only showed up every third game or so
In my 11 years as a season ticket holder we have never booed the team. And we have had a few stinker games. PIT and TB scoring 8 goals as I recall. The tough FL losses. Another reason I love this fan base….
My Dearest at Home,
At long last, we have completed our march upon Ottawa, and tonight we make our stand upon their frozen field of battle. The journey was steady and without incident, and I am pleased to report the regiment arrives in strong condition—well-rested, in good health, and fully prepared for the clash ahead.
The men carry a quiet confidence among them. We aim to place the Senators firmly upon their heels and seize a third victory in as many engagements. The spirit in camp is resolute, sharpened by purpose and the promise of triumph.
Lieutenant Jarvis remains keenly focused, eager to lead our offensive charge and strike where the enemy is most vulnerable. Meanwhile, Sergeant Major Slavin has gathered the men in prayer, asking for both courage in battle and a safe return to those we hold dear.
Know that I carry thoughts of home with me into this contest, and it strengthens my resolve more than any musket or blade ever could.
With confidence,
- Jordan

My dad is 75 and lives in Iowa. He got the MLB Extra Innings package to watch the Tigers again this year - something he plans his whole day around.
Tonight, Detroit (664 miles from his house) hosted Milwaukee (360 miles from his house). Couldn't watch. Blacked out. (1/2)
Frank Robinson at Spring Training, 1962. Robinson hit .342 with 39 home runs and 136 RBIs, finishing second in MVP voting. But shockingly, after the season, Reds owner Bill DeWitt traded the 27-year-old Robinson to the Baltimore Orioles for pitcher Milt Pappas, claiming Robinson was "an old 30."
"I’ve been seeing a lot of conflicting opinions on this lately, and I’m curious where you all stand: Is it actually appropriate for a priest to drink beer in public?
@TuckerBlanc That was a brutal one. We thought we lost only to have a Florida goal called back and then hang around for who knows how much longer and watch Matthew Tkuthuck beat us. I got home about 2:30 am. tonight 1230 much better especially with the win.
Hurricane Ottawa first period very different than game one. Game 1 seemed to be about setting the physicality mantra. Game 2 we saw a real skill. really fun to watch.
@canes_talk@caseyskater@Wingmenpod It was always hard to say, but for years, I thought that Florida plays the same way we do only better. Perhaps we’ve now equalize them.
Interesting perspective from Matthew Tkachuk on Carolina’s system.
“When you’re playing against Carolina, it’s basically an exact copy of my team here in Florida.”

To the Honorable Citizens of Raleigh,
I write to you as Commander of the Carolina Regiment, after a days’ reprieve from our first clash with the forces of Ottawa. The men have taken what rest they could, mended their wounds, and sharpened both steel and spirit. Yet I must inform you—the enemy stirs once more.
By nightfall, they shall make their advance upon Raleigh.
Be assured, good people, that we do not stand unprepared. Our defenses are set, our lines fortified, and every safeguard has been carefully laid to repel their assault. The regiment stands resolute, united in purpose, and unwavering in its duty to protect this city and all who call it home.
Our network of scouts and spies has brought forth intelligence most favorable to our cause. It is reported that CPT Zub of Ottawa has fallen in the prior engagement, his condition uncertain and his return to battle in doubt. In his absence, a weakness has emerged within their defensive ranks—a breach we intend to exploit with precision and force.
Yet we must remain vigilant, for the enemy still boasts dangerous firepower. Particular attention shall be given to suppressing the efforts of The Ottawa Embellishment Officer, SGT Stützle himself, whose offensive prowess has proven a threat and his uncanny ability to be felled by the ghost of a passing breeze could render us trouble with law enforcement. Our men are prepared to contain him, denying space, time, and opportunity at every turn.
I place great confidence in several of our most valiant officers this evening. COL Aho has pledged to lead the charge with precision and cunning. 1LT Jarvis brings youthful fire and fearless resolve. And SFC Svechnikov stands ready to deliver the kind of force that turns the tide of battle. Each has given me their word—they are prepared.
Take heart, Raleigh. The storm may gather, but we shall meet it head-on. Stand firm behind your regiment, as we stand firm before the foe. By dawn, I intend to write again with news of the defeat of General Tkachuk, Commander of the Retreating Rabble as he and his men run to Ottawa having been dealt a second blow in as many sunsets.
For Carolina, for Raleigh, and for honor,
- Jordan

@Press1forClout@emanningwrites If you combine overtime losses with regular losses, the only team that had a winning record against the east was Colorado 20 - 12
Wild: 16-16
Dallas 16-16
Vegas 14-18
Edmonton 13-19
@Press1forClout@emanningwrites I think whom ever comes out of the east wins the Cup. The good teams in the west padded their records against 11 below average west teams. I think the pressure every night in the east has sharpened the league to be ready come Stanley Cup time. hoping it’s Carolina.
Announcer during the Dallas/Minny game.
“These are 2 of the 3 best teams in the league and have been all year”
Bro the disrespect is just amazing

@rbarkleyhockey@FFCane32 I now sit in the lower bowl row Y. For some years I sat in Row M. Being 10 rows lower the sound is beyond deafening. Can’t hear the person next to you. Have to lip read. I can’t imagine the crowd noise on the ice.
The playoff atmosphere that the Carolina Hurricanes have built in Raleigh is unreal
