What i love abt Himeno is what most neglect to read abt her & why Fujimoto was so proud of her which is her un-serious personality (which gets taken wrongly rather than funny which is what was intended) coupled with her deep trauma, fear of losing others and willingness to get hurt FOR others, and no one noticed her incredible ability of deduction, to rationalize thru a situation and think deeply to figure out the techniques of her opponents/devils and that's why she lasted so long as a devil hunter. Its further supported in Buddy Stories that Himeno is actually incredibly intelligent in this way. That and she set the tone for the entire story. I dont get when people try to minimize her death when her death was one of the most impactful and well-written deaths that Fujimoto has ever written. And clearly from the think pieces everyone still writes she is very memorable.
