Rooch Pre Mainnet Framework Upgrade: v22 ➔ v25 We are thrilled to announce that the Rooch Pre Mainnet Move Framework has been upgraded from v22 to v25! Through continuous building and validation on the testnet (v23-v25), we have now successfully deployed the brand-new Payment Channel and Decentralized Identity (DID) systems on the mainnet. Here are the two major capabilities introduced in this upgrade: 📷 1. Launch of Payment Channel Network We have built a state-channel-based payment infrastructure from scratch, now delivering full capabilities: Zero to One Implementation: A complete off-chain payment channel protocol stack is now live, enabling users to open channels and perform high-frequency, low-cost off-chain transactions. X402 Protocol Integration: Natively implemented the X402 payment protocol, providing standard support for streaming payments and micro-transaction scenarios. 📷 2. Launch of Native DID System We have architected a DID system that truly decouples "Ownership" from "Execution," laying the foundation for on-chain identities in the AI Agent era: Flexible Controller Architecture: DIDs are no longer bound to a single wallet type. The system supports multiple controller forms, including did:bitcoin (Bitcoin addresses) and Passkeys (biometric devices). This means users can manage identities via cold wallets or control them effortlessly with FaceID, with support for more chain wallets coming in the future. Dedicated DID Validator: Introduced a dedicated DID Validator that verifies transaction signatures directly based on the Verification Methods defined in the DID Document. This allows you to register an AI Agent's public key directly into the DID document, granting it operational permissions. 📷 3. Expanded Cryptographic Primitives To support the above systems, we have synchronized the expansion of our underlying cryptographic libraries: New Primitives: Introduced support for ecdsa_r1 (WebAuthn) and rs256. Alignment: Re-integrated Schnorr (secp256k1) signatures, ensuring full alignment with Bitcoin Mainnet's Taproot features.

The Agentic Economy needs more than smart models; it needs Native On-chain Identity. As we evolve from Generative AI to Agentic AI, digital agents are beginning to hold assets and pay for services 24/7. The X402 protocol solves the problem of how Agents pay, but we still face a critical infrastructure flaw: Identity and Private Key Management. If your Agent needs to be online, its key must be "hot". If that key leaks, the Agent's assets are stolen, and its accumulated reputation dies instantly. The solution lies in Decentralized Identity (DID), specifically the decoupling of "Ownership" from "Execution". We need an architecture where Identity is a persistent entity, while cryptographic keys are merely transient tools for authorization. You shouldn't have to burn down the "company" (Identity) just because an "employee" (Agent) lost their access card.

At Rooch Network, we have implemented this standard natively to solve the AI survival problem. We upgraded "Addresses" into "On-chain Entities": 1. Identity as an Entity: Your DID is a tangible Object on the blockchain that holds the Account Capability (AccountCap). 2. Control vs. Execution: * The Controller (You): You maintain supreme authority using your Bitcoin Cold Wallet or even a Passkey (FaceID), and only use it for management. * The Verification Method (Agent): The Agent gets a specific, revocable key to sign transactions. "Persistent Identity, Transient Keys" If your Agent's server is compromised, you don't need to panic-move assets. You simply send one instruction with your Controller key to revoke the Agent's key. The Identity remains. The Assets remain. The Reputation remains. You just fired a compromised "worker" and can immediately hire a new one.
