Hard to describe what it’s like here in Los Angeles right now. The Pacific Palisades is maybe 20-25 mins from where I live. The city smells like smoke. There was apparently another fire less than 5 miles from my house, but thank God they put it out. Sending my prayers to those who have been impacted, and sending gratitude to the firefighters, first responders and emergency personnel who are working diligently to help people.

It’s astonishing to read the snarky comments of people who aren’t from Los Angeles or who have never lived in Los Angeles, lecturing those of us who grew up there about things like the height of our trees and the wind patterns. These west LA and Pasadena fires are not typical, and for some of us it’s hitting too close to home.

I believe the #EatonFire just spotted embers ~3 miles south over I-210, igniting the #BertFire, with structures now burning from this new spot fire. Just insane fire behavior.
