One of the biggest reasons Love and Deepspace hooked me in and earned so much of my respect is how much genuine effort Infold has put into sharing Chinese culture through the game. It’s not like simple pretty background details, it's all thought out, intentional and deeply woven in.
We’ve gotten so many beautiful cultural features and mini-documentaries! Silk ball embroidery, lantern making, paper cutting, shell carving, mooncake making, dragon mythology to mention a few… even one that talks about how romantic the moon is. I’ve loved watching every single one. There’s always something new, and it never feels forced. Chinese culture is just so vast and vibrant, and without it the game would never hit me the way it does.
What I love most is how the traditional and mythological motifs actually enrich every character. It turns us players into total detectives, we’re out there analyzing every little detail. Which gods are each LI connected to? What do the cranes on Zayne’s jacket mean? It’s honestly wild how well the game works as a gateway to learning more about the culture, all because we love our boys so much that we want to understand every single thing about them. I’m really looking forward to Valko coming back. I can’t wait to slow down and properly explore all the Chinese motifs tied to him.
