The term is cast around too easily these days. But Seamus Coleman was and is a genuine #Everton legend. Exemplary on and off the field 💙

@JohnWight1 @kellylgiven Pro-football. Not anti-Celtic. Rules of the game are explicitly clear - it needs to be a clear and obvious error and his silhouette needs to be made bigger. Neither are true and any footage is unclear. There’s a reason why even neutrals think it’s a terrible decision.

Clear and obvious? Definitive evidence? You might think the ball hit the hand, but can you be absolutely sure? A look at the potentially title-changing VAR penalty which give Celtic victory at Motherwell deep into stoppage time. 👇 bbc.co.uk/sport/football…

Just seen the late penalty decision from last night. I think it may form the best argument yet to scrap VAR completely. “Clear and obvious”. 🤔

Fact is the decisions in favour of Arsenal and Celtic were correct. Foul on Raya and handball by Sam Nicholson.

If you want to make the case against #VAR that’s fine. But don’t just pop up when a team you hate gets a VAR decision in their favour. It undermines your case. Address the bigger issues. Undermining refs, long delays, even impact on goal celebrations etc

@Stephen24669 @TEnglishSport You can complain about the use of VAR in football all you like. And you’ll probably be correct. But that doesn’t take away that it was a clear handball and probably a foul as well.

Late finish. Profoundly grim that a penalty could be given for that and in those circumstances. A shocking call.

Re last nights #Celtic match. I think the overall use of #VAR is more controversial than the decision it was used to make last night. It was a clear handball (hand in unnatural position) and probably a foul too (elbowed Celtic player).

With Moyes as a manager you know there will be neither feast nor famine. Choice moving forward is another season of consolidation or do we strike out? Risks to both. #EFC

Most frustrating game on the season that and that's putting it lightly. For what it means to us, playing a team who are on the beach and we show zero control, our defence falls to bits and our big players are horrendous.

I know Villa listen to supporters generally after a few years of a strained relationship as the club grows and evolves into a fit for purpose 21st century club. So I'd hope that the club would consider opening Villa Park, big screen, music and celebrate the club on the day of the Final. Get a couple of local bands, a rousing MC, charge £10 with a free drink or two, and make Villans who can't go to Istanbul feel involved. It's their day too. Aged 11 i wouldn't have been able to afford to go to Rotterdam but I could have gone to VP and been very excited indeed. Lots of families who already go to games and are financially stretched deserve to feel the magic, and those kids are the future of our club. Some fireworks, music, pop and crisps for a quid, a beer for the same and all of a sudden we make the most important people at our club who can't go to Istanbul, feel a part of the pride. Hope @AVFCOfficial gives it a little thought, I'm seeing a huge appetite for it on here.

@ColinBrazierTV You could say that about candidates of most political parties. Shame the “thoughtful and conscientious” people you speak of will be used to attack equality, social justice and employment rights and enforce the rights of the wealthy few over the many. But good for you.

In recent months I've helped train a hundred or so Reform members, most of whom hoped to become councillors. The vast majority never planned to enter politics. It was something other people did. They were from all walks of life. Former teachers and police officers. People who'd served as soldiers, nurses, civil servants. One man - a builder - felt out of his depth. But, persuaded by those around him, he went on to give a brilliant and humbling account of what had propelled him to stand for Reform. Why he could do no other. The groups were mixed in terms of class and race and religion, to a degree that I think would astonish many of the Party's critics. They were united in a belief that the country they were born in, or had moved to, was not the same country they would die in. It had mutated in their lifetimes in a way that rendered it unrecognisable and, many of them felt, ungovernable in the future. They were not bigots or opportunists or charlatans. They are the best of Britain. Thoughtful patriots. Conscientious citizens. Mothers and fathers who fear for the society their children will inherit. Screwing up their courage, they had taken a leap of faith. Decided to do something they feel might shape our future. Help us all avert catastrophe. Simply moaning on Facebook or X or at the bar was no longer an option for them. These are the people who will go into this weekend with a new sense of purpose, as part of our island story of democracy. As newly-elected Reform councillors. I pray they can stay the course and give thanks that people like them - all over Britain - have chosen to stand up and be counted. #Reform

I just think this has been a desperately sad day. From the height of expectation less than 2 years ago to this - is unfathomable. That so many see the solution to their problems in a party full of racists and people who despise equality and social justice is utterly depressing.

Some of the stuff our club shop sells are a joke, who is designing this crap, quick look at what the lids wear the Match, they’d make a killing with windbreakers shorts woven trackies, tech t shirts etc rather than tops with massive writing or badges in the back 🤦‍♂️

For all the idiots who have decided to take this opportunity to bash @EFC_FanAdvisory again, this was what they were doing before the game on Monday. 👍🏻 Redirect your anger towards the "we need to raise prices to compete" lot, because that extra £2mil is a drop in the ocean.

@evertonibrow This was after they’d put a statement out saying the prices for next season “were settled”. A pathetic surrender. LFC fans showed prices are by no means settled. Instead of planning a proper campaign they were worrying letters to PGMOL about referees.

Despite overwhelming evidence that #Everton fans were angry, the @EFC_FanAdvisory decided to do nothing. Pathetically saying “the prices have now been set”. Same situation at LFC has been reversed because of organised supporter action. #EFC fabs need leaders not hangers on.
