@thephillipsfam The brain responds to challenging stimulus like a muscle. It also opens doors to excel in fields where math literacy is needed. I think home ec/ practical classes are great, but it’s a lot easier to pick up household electrical on the fly with experience in calc than vice versa

@thephillipsfam My calculus teacher explained it as such: you may or may not ever have to find the integral of a function or interpret/ solve a calculus problem, but the critical thinking, problem solving skills which are challenged and developed are useful in any field and many aspects of life

do you think a majority of kids should be required to learn anything beyond Geometry in public school? How many of you can say you really implement your algebra knowledge from school? How often do Newton's Laws of Motion come up?

Pumped to be named 1st team all metro linebacker for Mountain division Seattle. Within my team I was also given the award of Deffencive player of the year. It’s been a wonderful 4 years and I am so thankful for all that this sport, team, and program has given me.
