Initially thought this was parody. We live in strange times. We should turn it off and on again....

🚨 Farage tells @MrHarryCole the £5m from Thai crypto billionaire Harborne was a reward for 27 years of Brexit campaigning. BUT hang on a minute! Brexit was delivered in 2020. The money landed in early 2024, right before he decided to stand as an MP. One minute it was for security now it was gift, but irrespective of that he should’ve declared it! We weren’t born yesterday.

@jim_demps A mess entirely of Munster Rugby's own making. Media don't exist to cheerlead. An omnishambles and it's the only way to report about it. He'll be gone at the end of the season and nothing to do with journalists. Just need to look in-house for the mess

Aul Woodward and Bernstein in the Indo won’t be happy until they’re patting themselves on the back on the podcasts for removing McMillan from a job.

Where do we go from here? In a time of budgetary constraints, how sustainable is the privatisation of these assessments. At what point is there a value for money discussion? Challenges remain. Will await publication of Service Improvement & Plannjng 2026-27 document for more info

Of the 5,273 completed privately, the total cost outlined within 2025 was 19,666,935. This averages out at approximately 3,730 per assessment. I was quite struck by this figure. Are we getting value for money on this? Seems to be extremely expensive; unsure why this is the case.

Reviewing the #roadmap for #pds final report containing 2025 data. Some interesting information in relation to #assessmentofneed. 13,186 new requests for assessment received in 2025. Within this time period, 6,702 completed. Demand far outstripping supply. Problematic.

@livelaughcryxo While it sounds subtle its significant isn't it... that shift to 'counselling' from 'representation'... brings some of the implicit biases to the surface doesnt it....

@livelaughcryxo I think sometimes their hope is that people won't have the resources to pursue litigation. Definitely happens in the area of child disability services. Haven't read Bill in detail but do note the shift based on the critiques ive read...

@livelaughcryxo Presume there'll be multiple challenges in the courts. Be interesting to see how it holds up if it makes its way to supreme court

@orlidegani Pseudo science. Impossible to replicate. Concerns around validity. Poorly defined. Vague, descriptive statistics. Prone to bias. Timeline violations. Tells us nothing.

Today we published Ireland’s first-ever report on antisemitic incidents. I built the reporting mechanism because there wasn’t one. When we at the Jewish Representative Council of Ireland realised the scale - 143 incidents in 6 months, in a community of ~2,000, and the continued lack of acknowledgment, we had no choice but to document it ourselves. 75% happened in physical settings - in places people deserve to feel safe. 30% began as ordinary interactions until a Jewish/Israeli identity cue was discovered. 36% were verbal abuse and slurs. 25% were emails and messages sent directly to the community. Nearly half of them included violent threats. We received another one just this morning promising us that "Jewish people in Ireland will die". For over two years we were told: “There is no antisemitism in Ireland.” “It’s just criticism of Israeli government policies.” But when Jewish people are afraid to take public transport, go to the doctor, enter a shop, attend school, go to work, or even feel safe in their own homes - that is not “anti-Israel.” It is not “political discourse.” It is antisemitism. As I told the Social Democrats two years ago: when rhetoric becomes absolute and collective, it does not stay political. It lands on a minority community. The report is here: jrci.ie/143-incidents-…

Strong agree here. We need coru and we need it fast. The word specialist is now meaningless. Trauma is a buzzword. If youre spending money, do your research.
Dr Karen Treisman, MBE, Clinical Psychologist@dr_treisman

A gentle but important reflection about titles, trauma, and integrity. We are in a time where words like trauma-informed, expert, specialist, psychologist, and may more are used widely. Sometimes thoughtfully. Sometimes loosely. And I say this with deep respect for the many people doing meaningful, values-led work across communities, charities, schools, services, and organisations. We need a wide ecosystem. There is space for many roles. But clarity matters and is protective. It is not just semantics. Because when • An undergraduate psychology degree becomes “Psychologist” • A one-day trauma course becomes “trauma specialist” • A podcast deep-dive becomes “qualified to train others” • Mental Health First Aid becomes “mental health expert” This touches on dignity, transparency, safety, ethical integrity and so much more. Generally titles like Psychologist are legally protected for a reason. Clinical and specialist pathways are long and supervised for a reason. Of course, qualifications alone do not make someone skilled, ethical, or compassionate. And embodied experience, community wisdom, and passion are invaluable. But the people we serve deserve transparency and clarity about what sits behind the words we use. We can contribute in a way that is aligned with our experience or skill set or perspective without over claiming or further confusing people.
