@TraumaPhDandMe Greyhounds make such good apartment dogs. They are the laziest! Honestly they snooze 18hrs a day and are so good for snuggles. Having them has been maybe the most helpful thing for surviving recurrent depression. Here is my Harry post a beach trip.

Any dog advice for my situation welcome. I'm envisaging a little pal that I can go on adventures with. They would be so, SO loved!

As a distraction, let's talk about dogs. I really want a dog, bc I think the company and love would do me wonders. I'm in a second floor flat with no outside space, but I think a dog could still be happy here. There are lots of lovely places to walk, and it's a good-sized flat.

@TraumaPhDandMe Whenever my regular relapse has occurred to point of losing momentum on my “traditional career” I’ve done adjacent or exploratory volunteering. I’ve found lovely community and gentleness that’s helped me reflect, feel purposeful and build confidence back. Never regretted it

I'm not looking for work atm. I think it would be premature, and risk unravelling everything, but I'd like to start thinking about what might be possible. I don't know where I fit in in the world, and I'd like to start exploring that. I'd like to know where I'm aiming to go.

Dear people who've had a mental health crash severe enough to keep you out of work for a while: How did you rebuild your life? How did you decide what work to do and how did you balance that with your mental health? I don't want work to destroy my hard-won relative stability.
