@HMRCcustomers I have a question about self-assessment tax - am I able to ask about the circumstances without specifics here?

Are the costs of (attempted) sale deductible against my property income for Income Tax? I am aware the costs of sale are deductible against capital gains, but as the sale did not proceed then no gain was made.

Unfortunately the sale fell through and I elected to return to renting out the property instead of trying to sell again.
