@RoseBJackson So why not say "public housing" then? Why are you & the rest of the govt so terrified of using those words? I am angry. I have been ever since my provider has ignored requests for basic accessibility inside their purchased Housing NSW home. Building is good. Enforcement better.

For 99% of people, someone is going to dictate your future, at least now they do it with math. Algorithmic content is at least quantifiable and predictable, unlike politicians.

@kayleen87686977 I do recognise this, your son sounds like a wonderful friend. There is good that comes from online connection - finding a tribe, democratizing media, building movements. But the algorithms can genuinely be harmful for kids too. And I welcome (thoughtful) replies you so may!

@RoseBJackson Rose if I may. My 13 year old son has a best friend whose mum died. They don’t have phones but do have laptops. My son sat all through the night online helping his friend get through the worst 24 hours of his life. Social media can be real connections for marginalized kids.

Big win. The NSW Labor Govt. has just banned no grounds evictions for residential tenancies. This is huge step forward to make our rental laws fair for the millions of renters in our state.

@JohnRuddick2 @peter_tulip Thanks John! I’ve never advocated for rent caps because although they seem attractive at first blush when rents are so high, sadly they don’t work. I’m all for increasing affordable housing supply but the Argentinian total removal of all planning controls seems a bit too far!

I joined the ALP in 2003 and the first person I ever campaigned for was Linda Burney. And I have never stopped. She is so warm, so real, so classy. She has just done so much as a leader in this country and for our state. She deserves every praise that will be heaped upon her as she retires from politics, and I can’t wait to see what’s next. I know she will continue to serve others in some way. Love you Linda ❤️

@DougCameron51 Thanks Doug! Still a massive way to go - you know that first hand from the People’s Commission on Housing. QLD has been doing heaps on modular housing as well, Labor Govts being determined, creative and leaning into solutions 💪🏻
