ROSÉ on CR Fashion Book: 👤: what was the main thread you held onto when you started working on 'rosie'? 🐿️: “I think it was more about emotion and storytelling. I had this desire to picture and draw out a world, and show how this one character goes through certain emotions. I really wanted to paint this girl’s personality, her thoughts, her thought process, and make sure it wasn’t fabricated — that it was honest and vulnerable. We would discuss how to write certain lines, and I was always particular about the voice. I would say, no, it has to be voiced like this, because I want this girl to be vulnerable. I didn’t want her to seem like she was acting cooler than she is, or more chic than she is. I wanted her to feel real. That was the beauty of the character — which was my brain in my mid-twenties. I had this desire to present that in a musical way, hoping it would heal me. And I guess part of me thought that if it was relatable, it would resonate. I think it worked, I’m so, so happy about that.”
