New Trashalanche, despite the damage increase, ignores Tool cards, which used to be considered Items. In additional, Garbodor was so powerful in the context of being played alongside Garbotoxin Garbodor. I dont expect Tirtouga to be very strong

Old Trashalanche came in to clean up a garbage format where every deck played insane numbers of Items. New Trashalanche exists in a format already thoroughly pollinated with lots of wonderful Supporter cards. Hopefully the oceans stay clean so Tirtouga never gets angry.

@WashedNikola by the time these decks come out, a lot of the cards are rotated anyway. They are meant to be enjoyed separately, not as pieces to build a meta deck

@RoseannesSearch What do you define as high value cards? Pretty sure i didn't see any card over 5$ inside. Would have preferred them making these more expensive but with tournament-ready cards.

@WashedNikola There's plenty of high value cards in these decks. Making these tournament legal would also completely evade the point of them which is to keep them together and play them against one another to experience what it was like to play that Worlds format

@RoseannesSearch The energy might be intentional. If you go back to the first WCS decks, they had Neo cards in them that looked like RS era cards. They made that card more up to date

Another under-explored aspect of card-design in the Pokémon TCG is effects that are negative towards yourself. An effect like this would result in unique gameplay and deck-building challenges for the archetype, and allows for powerful payoff Pokémon that are difficult to setup.
